A Glimpse into my Workspace

I have been planning this post for quite some time now and could not be more excited to share a little glimpse of my home (& the place where I spend the most time).  My workspace was one of the first places I started brainstorming about how I could decorate and make my own. I wanted it to serve as a place of inspiration and a place I actually wanted to be!

Our workspaces can have so much influence on our positivity, productivity and functionality without us even knowing it! By nature I am a little bit of a messy person yet I work so much better when things are clean, crisp and organized (imagine that). So for me, I wanted to create a space that is visually clean but not perfect. Clean and white is something that I absolutely love and have wanted for my office for sometime now and I got lucky with this house! I also wanted a clean mess if that makes sense (ha). If things look too perfect, I would never touch or move a thing, but hello that is such a waste!

Let’s start with the pictures, because the marketing nerd in me is geeking. Prints and quotes inspire me and also remind me why I am doing this. No matter what job you work, there are going to be long days and there are going to be bad days. So just by having a little bit of inspiration to surround yourself with can make the world of difference and give you that little confidence boost you need. I fell in love with this ‘oh deer’ print and knew my little home office was the perfect space for it. I am a scaredy cat by nature and sometimes I am scared to throw my ideas out there or pitch something to my boss. But you do not know unless you try and your fears cannot stop you from that, so I am glad that I can look up and laugh at myself. Also, I have always been a huge Marilyn fan and when I saw this canvas at ikea I knew I had to have it. I love that it is the center of attention (literally) but also Marilyn is the epitome of an independent lady. One that I most certainly look up to!

Moving right along to the bookshelf! There is something about a bookshelf that I absolutely love. I love how it looks when it is full of books but I absolutely love when it holds things that are meaningful to you. On my bookshelf I have my little filing system and desk supplies, coffee table books (which I collect or some may say hoard), some journals ( I am a huge note taker, hence the clipboard full of notes and to-do lists under my ‘oh deer’ print), and some other little odds and ends. It is amazing how refreshing it is to look over at it during the day. It is so functional yet it also has so much creativity in one spot, I almost cannot even handle it!

The only thing missing from my favorite little space are people, yes people. There is something so special about the collaboration and camaraderie that comes from individuals working together. If you are a freelancer or are starting a small company I would encourage you to check out WeWork. They are an amazing company that provides super cool shared office space full of tons of benefits, discounts and fun events. I have my fingers crossed that they come to Charlotte soon!

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed. I am going to try to share some more glimpses into my little home soon but until then I would love to hear about your workspace! What inspires you?
