A little note about fear and what i’ve been learning

Fear // concern, doubt, racing heart + mind

All things that come into mind when you think of fear? Yea, me too. My whole life I have hidden behind fears and doubts. Goodness, if you’re anything like me then you know just how limiting this can be. Life becomes playing it safe instead of running full force after your dreams and desires. If you read my 2016 review, then you know just how humbling of a year it was (you can read it right here).

2017, we are only one month in and you are giving me a run for my money. I know God is working something big but it’s amazing how we lose sight of this. We lose sight that God’s plan for our lives are for our GOOD (Romans 8:28). During this season, I have realized just how much I cling to things that are comforting to me. That things I comfort are way more comfortable than my comfort in the Lord.  Whether a job, relationship, friendship or even just a living situation, I am sure we all have one (or two or ten) things that hold comfort. They are safe. Let’s live on the edge a little more, strip ourselves from these items of comfort… or let’s try together?! Deal!

If you’re anything like me then you know you can’t let your mind wander too much and you have to speak truth. I read a few days ago about how we talk to ourselves more than anyone else. It’s a pretty weird concept to grasp your mind around, but it’s true. Last week I was in Nashville (more to come on this), and goodness I spent a lot of time with just me, myself and I. It was wonderful in every way possible. But I did have to give myself some pep talks, push those doubts out of my head and ground myself in what is TRUE. Finally, we have to know the future is exciting and it’s something to feel stoked about. Don’t let fear limit you from doing some amazing things.

Now for the look (finally)

It was on my heart this week to just talk about fear. So thank you so much for reading through my mess of thoughts. It’s been a pretty crazy season of life but one thing that hasn’t changed is my love for a good coat. I could go on about my color crush, camel and how everyone needs classic jacket. It is the perfect investment no matter the color (black, grey, camel, totally up to you).

Each year I think our style changes and evolves. In 2017, I have already seen how I am veering towards classic pieces. I am loving a good play on classic denim shirts and madewell is the perfect place for it. Also, I love a good classic pair of skinnies. I mean real talk, they are the most worn piece in my wardrobe.

Shop the look below and goodness thank you so much for reading!
