Well hello and happy Friday! I feel as if I should be saying howdy given this look — ha! If you would have asked me 5 years ago if I thought overall would make a comeback I probably would have said hmm.. probably not and if you would have asked me last year when they came back full force if I was gonna buy a pair, I definitely would have said I am not jumping on that bandwagon. Well I did and I couldn’t be happier about it, especially since it is festival season!
There is just something about overalls that makes me reminisce about my childhood and just kinda feel like a child again! They are also such a fun piece to play around with. Paola from The Blank Itinerary, originally was the one who sold me on overalls by pairing them with a silk blouse and long sleeveless vest. It was pretty amazing and I just loved how seamless the look was.
So today I decided to take my own spin by pairing it with my favorite hat from last year (previously worn here, here, and here) and a white off the shoulder top for a fun spring ensemble. This look could not be more perfect for a festival or running around the farmers market!
I could go on and on about these overalls and let me tell you, I have tried on my fair share of overalls over the past few months. I am naturally very long + lean but lord do I have some hips! So everytime I would go to try on a pair they were usually boxy or high waters (laughing just thinking about how silly that looked) or quite honestly just not flattering. But Gap saved the day again. I was just perusing their site when I saw their model on the main page wearing these precious flare overalls! The next day I ran into the store to try them on and the rest was history! I sized up though, partly because I needed the lenght but they are also very fitted!
Overalls are just the few of many spring trends I can’t wait to try! What have your favorite spring trends been?
