Happiest Friday to you! That deserves some champagne popping and a dance party! There are so many reasons why this is my favorite time of year but one of the biggest reasons is I love buying gifts. I love all the thought that goes into it before picking out each gift, then buying it and last but certainly not least, wrapping it! I should have my mom type this post because she is by far the best wrapper I have ever seen. Her gifts come out absolutely beautiful!
Over the past few years I’ve decided to try and make my wrapping paper. Most people are like heck to the no. But I love a good craft and it is some nice down time in the middle of the hustle and bustle of this busy season. It is also a lot easier than it seems and cheaper than buying fancy wrapping paper! So here are three easy wrapping ideas! They are super easy, if I can do them, then you most certainly can do them as well!
I don’t know what it is about splatter paint but I just love the way it looks. There is something so pretty about it and let’s be honest I feel like Picasso whenever I do it. Let me tell you it is so EASY! I used kraft and black wrapping paper because I love the neutrals and used a combo of black, white, silver and gold paint!
Step one, put some newspaper, then get two cups of water. One you will dip your paint brush in to dilute the paint and help it to splatter the other is used to rinse your. Step 2, have a paper plate handy and choose two or three paint colors. I only used about quarter size of each color and I put them all on the same plate! Step 3, have at it and it is all in the flick of the wrist (insert winky face emoji-ha) but seriously! Last, let dry for about an hour and then wrap away!
I love geometric patterns, well actually any good pattern! They are chic and clean which is so so nice. This is super easy as well. Step one, get yourself a ruler and paint pen. I chose gold but I almost wish I had a white or black paint pen. Step two, decide if you are going to do stripes, a window pane pattern or whatever your heart desires. Step 3, get your spacing right, hence the ruler. Step 4, time to start drawing! Lastly, Line your ribbon up either in line with your lines or in the grid and Ta-da!
White Polka Dot
Polka dots are my absolute favorites and a few years ago when I decided to craft up my own wrapping I decided to just do polka dots. They are so adorable and by far the easiest! Step one, get a paint pen and then start the dots. It is that easy and I probably did not even need to write this! Make the dots as large or as small are you wish. I chose to keep them all the same size but you can mix up the sizes as well! ALSO let it dry, I Learned this the hard way!
I would love to hear your favorite wrapping ideas! I saw a few years ago someone wrapping in newspaper and I am dying to try that as well! Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend!
