Today I am going to share a little bit of a different post! If you have been reading Love + Be for a while you will know that Half United is one of my favorite companies. They are a wonderful company centered around fighting hunger. They make all kinds of accessories and most are made out of bullets to symbolize the fight! I absolutely love their necklaces & bracelets (see here, here, here, here and here).
Well a few months ago, they came to me saying they were starting a blog, which now goes by the name of The Philanthropist, and asked if I would be interested writing a post for it. Well I jumped at the request and typed as fast as I could, YES! Half United wanted the post to be about giving back to your community or another wonderful experience in your community. This topic is very near and dear to my heart so I couldn’t have been more excited. Moving to Charlotte last summer, I knew I wanted to spend a lot of my free time volunteering. There is something so special and valuable about giving back to those who may be hurting.
So I wrote about where I spend my Fridays and can you guess where? At a school mentoring a little girl! You can read my whole post here and I’m going to end this post with my favorite part of the article ( & my life mantra)
I think the greatest thing we can do for others, and ourselves, is help or give something, even if it’s just something like giving a compliment or smile to a stranger. So I encourage you, wherever you live, to go out do something nice for someone today!
